| I was turkey hunting and in a dream situation - had 'me
going, a lot of 'me ! While trying to wait them out I heard
noise behind me & a gobbler was walking a trail which I would
have been able to shoot when he appeared back into my view [he
was temporarily hidden by the tree that I was leaning against].
But he did not appear , and then he ran off & which is went I
discovered that 2 gobblers were driven off by an approaching
person who stopped 30 yds. from me. I gathered my things,
removed my head net & flipped over my hat to orange & went to see
what this guy wanted . He turned out to be a WCO who proceed to
due a field check -- turkeys are still gobbling but he
continued! Finding all in order he stated that I was moving
without orange. I said I was hunting from a stationary location
- He then wanted to see where I had been set up, we looked & I
thought this would end it - but no - a fine was pressed :
$122.50. I fought it, lost - you wouldn't believe what they are
willing to say in court ! Said I was moving about hunting
without the orange, when all I did was go 30 yds to see what
this guy wanted + put on my orange to do so. In court he
admitted he deliberately stalked in on my calling - looking for
an offender he'd heard was using an illegal blind. I had no
blind, he looked at my calling location to see if I had built a
blind - no blind, but you gotta get 'em for something so the
orange thing was used. If you think you get a fair shake in
court - don't count on it. Hunt PA - bring your check book -
